[I] Refreshing Memory: The Fall of Muslim Lands in WWI
1915 — British invaded Iraq.
March 1917 — The Brits marched into the once grandiose capital of the Abbasid, Baghdad. They took down the Ottoman flag and raised in its place the British flag.
General Allenby was appointed by the British PM, Lord George — he was sent to Egypt, and the PM told him, "I want you to conquer Jerusalem by Christmas." T.E Lawrence (±spy/provocateur) was paid £200,000 per month by Gen. Allenby to persuade the Arabs to break away from the Ottomans and to fight them. So it was as if T.E was paid to cause a civil war. Then Gen. Allenby launched a series of campaigns. (Egypt was already pretty much under British control by the time. Even before WW1 they were very much pro-British.)
December 1917 — From Egypt, he launched into Gaza and Jaffa — and there he fought the German & Ottoman forces. Eventually, he reached the holy city of Jerusalem, the Baitul Maqdis, giving the British PM the Christmas gift he wanted.
October 1918 — They conquered Damascus, the capital of once Umayyad's empire.
November 13th, 1918 — French & British forces invaded Istanbul.
So all of the magnificent capitals of the Muslim lands —Baghdad, Jerusalem, Damascus, and Istanbul— were conquered by the Allies. In terms of political humiliation, this is the lowest point in the entire history of the Ummah. (Kalau ada yang lebih teruk pun mungkin insiden Mongols.)

[II] Tiga Perjanjian British Pasca-WWI
[Figure Out: Kenapa Negara Arab Senyap di Abad Ke-21]
1 - Promises to the Arabs
Bermula Julai 1915, Brits' high commissioner (a governor who represents the British interest in the region) of Egypt, Sir Henry McMahon mengarahkan T.E Lawrence berbaik dengan Sharif Hussein Ibn Ali, the 40th descendant of the Prophet SAW. (Side note: Just because you are an ahlil bait doesn't mean you are automatically an angel or a saint.) This is pre-WW1, so Sharif is against the Ottomans. Beliau sudah lama simpan hasrat untuk menjadi khalifah, so the Brits took advantage of the ambition and bribed him, "If you rebel against your khalifah, we will make you the next caliph, and we will give you a united Arabia (Damascus, Baghdad, everything in between, Lebanon, Jordan, etc.)."
(Side note: So Muslims are also guilty just like other parties are guilty for the loss of our Caliphate. [See the actual letter in the video at minute 37:00.])
Based on this promise, the Sharif launched a war against the Ottomans, and the Brits gave the Sharif commands, i.e., where to attack.
Lawrence tidak tahu Brits ada buat 2 lagi perjanjian dengan kuasa lain. Tapi bila dia dapat tahu pun, guess what? Dia tidak beri tahu pun Sharif tentang 2 perjanjian itu, dan tetap terus beri janji manis kepadanya, "The lands will be yours, you will be the khalifah."
2 - The Sykes-Picot Agreement — the most important agreement
Based on this promise, the Sharif launched a war against the Ottomans, and the Brits gave the Sharif commands, i.e., where to attack.

2 - The Sykes-Picot Agreement — the most important agreement
McMahon later dates back to 1915. Tapi pada tahun yang sama, Brits berbincang dengan Russians & French, "Apa kita nak buat bila menang?" "Macam mana nak bahagi tanah nanti?"
- Russia demanded they want Istanbul & most of central Turkey (what is today Armenia).
- France wanted a protectorate in Lebanon (what is now Syria); they wanted chunks of Syria; the South-Eastern part of Turkey.
- England demanded the bulk of the Arab lands, basically Iraq, Jordan, Hejaz, Palestine, etc.
They agreed to this share in utmost secrecy.
(Side note: The only thing that comes to mind here is the hadith of the Prophet SAW, "It is only a matter of time before the other nations will call one another to attack you just like people are called to eat from a common plate.")
They were literally debating and negotiating who is going to get which share of the pie; which slice of the cake goes where; and eventually, they agree to these arbitrary lines. And these arbitrary lines basically formed the map of the modern Middle East to this day.
Mereka buat perjanjian Sykes-Picot ini sementara mengetahui mereka ada perjanjian lain dengan Arab. But believe it or not, they managed to smooth it over. Wallahi, how naive the Muslims were. They say, "Don't worry, your promise is still valid," etc., and the Arabs to the very end believed them.
3 - If we include this third agreement, this means 3 separate treaties were going on regarding the same land. Look at how double-dealing, how duplicitous, how hypocritical, how backstabbing the Brits were. Sementara 2 perjanjian di atas ada, guess what? In 1914, talk begins in the British cabinet at the highest levels of promising a Jewish homeland to the Zionists.
Talk begins of now carving out an independent Jewish homeland and giving it over to the Zionists.
Siapa Zionist? Zionist: A movement that began in the late part of the 19th century. A group of influential powerful Jews in Europe began this movement; they call it Zionism.
The goal of Zionism = to establish an independent Jewish homeland, preferably in Jerusalem itself. (This is in the 1880s, 1890s. They were already talking about this type of talk.) The most influential people in this movement were Theodor Herzl (the founder of the Zionist movement), & Chaim Weizmann (eventually 1st president of Israel).
Interestingly enough, initially, the Brits promised the Zionists another land and they said, "Why don't you choose Uganda in Africa?"—remember Brits controlled 1/4 of the world at the time. KALAU Zionist setuju ketika ini, mungkin sekarang Israel ditubuh di Afrika; but the Zionists insisted, "No, we only want Jerusalem. Our eyes are on the prize."

[III] Kenapa British dan Amerika Sokong Zionisme
Eventually, the British negotiated out and they agreed to support the Zionist cause. This leads to a very big question: Why? Why would England, why would Britain want to support the Zionists? What do they gain out of this?
And here we have a whole bunch of theories, some of which border on conspiratorial and bizarre. Allah knows best — but we will mention 4 reasons:
1 - The same reason why every single politician makes promises to the members of his own congregation, his own group, and that is: To gain their support. It's a part of what you do as a politician. And the Jewish population in England was relatively speaking powerful and wealthy. So the British parliament felt the need to get the support of Britain's Jews.
2 - Directly from point #1: One of the richest and most powerful Jews in all of England was Chaim Weizmann himself; and he in particular was very much needed by the British. Why? Because Chaim Weizmann wasn't just rich because of having some business and whatnot; he was a chemist, he was in the business of producing acetone which was a necessary ingredient in the manufacture of bombs and explosives. Lebih-lebih lagi di zaman perang, the price of acetone and its availability became very important. Weizmann patented a new technique of acetone. This was before WW1; jadi apabila berlaku WW1, kaya raya lah beliau.
The Brits desperately needed Chaim Weizmann to increase the supply of acetone by 1000%. So you could say by promising him Jerusalem, you get him on your side.
Weizmann was already a multi-billionaire, so it is said when the issue of payment arose, his response was, "I don't want any money, I want Palestine"—that was the payment.
3 - The Christian's connection with Judaism, and the fulfillment of the messianic prophecies of the second coming of Jesus. It is bizarre for most Muslims to know this, but actually, many Christians are more pro-Zionist than most Jews. Some of the Christian fundamentalist groups are more pro-Zionist than Jewish groups. The reason is: they believe when the holy land is "ready," Jesus Christ will return again. So they want to expedite the process.
The PM of England at the time, Lord George, was an ardent evangelical Christian, and he clearly had pro-Zionist and very Christian tendencies. And there is no denying there is an element of pro-Zionism coming out of a Christian theology.
4 - Allahu a'lam, this fourth point is a bit of a conspiracy theory, but you will find it in a lot of books: By promising Palestine to the Jews, this was a bribe to certain high-ranking officials in the White House, i.e., they did this to try to drag America in the war as well. Again, this is theory. Wallahu a'lam whether it is true or not.
Nonetheless, let us say one thing (and this is shocking to many of us), and this is not a theory; it is well documented and a known fact that mainstream American Jews were not pro-Zionist. Mainstream American Judaism was completely opposed to Zionism for the first 40 years of Zionism. In the 1880s, 1890s, Zionism was a completely European phenomenon. American Jews by and large scoffed at the idea of an independent Jewish homeland. They thought this is ridiculous. "We are happy where we are." And they did understand this will cause problems. The mainstream Jews in America did not support Zionism until post-WW2, i.e., post-Hitler era. That's when they felt the need to have an independent Jewish homeland.
And whatever the reason might be, eventually, these discussions between European Zionists and the British Government continued until finally in August 1917, the discussion reached the British cabinet, and now it was going to become official, "Should we vote or not?" And very interestingly, there was only one Jewish member of cabinet in that entire meeting, and that Jewish member was the most vocal opponent to the plan of giving Palestine to the Jews; and his name was Edwin Samuel Montagu. He said, "This will cause great alarm in the Muslim world, this will create enemies for us."
(Side note: So as you can see, Muslims and Jews were not enemies to one another for the bulk of history. And this is something that is shocking to modern Muslims and Jews [and modern Christians as well], but the fact of the matter is Muslims and Jews got along very well in what is now Palestine up until the beginnings of Zionism. Muslims and Jews did not have too much problems with each other. Montagu pun bantah idea tubuh Israel di Palestine. So dear Muslim brothers and sisters, let us not confuse anti-Zionism with anti-Judaism or anti-Jewishness. We have to be very careful here. Many Muslims confuse the two together. We are anti-Zionist, not anti-Jewish. The Jews are ahli kitab, and the shariah has and always will grant them rights that are known to all of us. And historically speaking, Jews and Muslims always found sympathy and comfort against the Christians in the crusade. And throughout history, whenever the Christians persecuted the Jews, the Jews always found safe passages in Muslim lands. This is an undeniable historical reality. And that is why there were large groups of Jews living in Muslim lands up until the creation of Israel. The Arabs know this very well. Yemeni Jews, Moroccan Jews, Tunisian Jews, etc. — the Jews flourished in Muslim lands. There was no animosity as it exists right now. But unfortunately, in our anger against Zionism, many Muslims have become antisemitic and anti-Jewish. We have to know that some of the most vocal and effective critics of Zionism are the Jews.)
Unfortunately, Montagu was outvoted in the cabinet — the opposition was minimal, he was one of a handful. The cabinet allowed this to pass, and immediately, the British foreman secretary, Sir Arthur Balfour, eagerly wrote a telegram to Baron Rothschild, basically saying, "Look, you help us out and you will get your state in Palestine. You will get your Israel." This is called the Balfour Declaration Nov 2nd, 1917.
(Side note: Rothschild is the highest-ranking Jew in England and a member of the World Zionist Congress. The Rothschild is a Jewish banking dynasty that has spent over 350 years, has branches to this day in Austria, England, France, America, Switzerland; it is one of the pioneers of worldwide banking; and their net worth back in 1700, 1800, in today's value would literally be in the hundreds of billions. There is no other equivalent of the Rothschild family in all of Europe. They transcended politics — they are so wealthy they don't care who is in power. And the family is still active to this day.)
______________
Remember, the same land of Palestine was promised to 3 people. And do realize when all of this begins (pre-WW1), only 5% of Palestine were Jews. The Jewish population was less than 5%.

[IV] Nota Tambahan: The After-Effects of WWI
Germany surrendered at 11:00 AM on the 11th day of the 11th month. (11AM, November 11th, 1918). WW1 officially came to an end.
Results of the end of WW1:
1 - Lost of life. In some European lands, more than 20% of the male population was gone. And this changed the whole dynamics.
2 - The famine. When you don't have men, you are not going to have fills; the famine probably killed at least triple or quadruple the amount that died in the actual war. Tens of millions of people across the globe died as a result of the famine. And then when you have famine and you have a lack of sanitation, the 3rd disaster happens:
3 - The Spanish Influenza of 1918. And what will make you understand what is the Spanish Influenza? The Spanish Influenza was the worst plague that man has seen since the Black Death of the 1300s. It is estimated that up to 5% of the world's population (est. 100 million people) died in the Spanish Influenza (1918, 1919, 1920). It's called "the Spanish Influenza," but it spanned the globe, from America to the Far East. The demographic that was affected was typically between 35 to 55. (Note: This is the original Bird Flu Virus H1N1. And that's why when the bird flu virus was resurrected 12 years ago, everybody panicked. Because they didn't have a cure for the Spanish Influenza. It's just stopped on its own after a good percentage of the world just basically died.)
4 - Feminism. Throughout human history across the globe, it was always understood what is the role of a man and what is the role of a woman, as Allah says "وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ (the male is not like the female)," but post-WW1, for the first time, the roles of men and women were reassessed. 1918 changed everything. It had to. When 20% of your male population is gone, women had to go to the workforce. They were asked to leave the sanctity of the house, "Go and work! We need you!" So the first wave of feminism began after WW1, and the second wave, not coincidentally, after WW2. And then we are still seeing this entire "reshifting" of men and women to this day. All of this comes about from WW1.
